Web Folder Details

By default students accounts are located under the directory;

/home/studentname

The folder that is served up by the Apache web server for public display is;

/home/studentname/public_html

The full web reference to the home web folder is therefore:

http://students.ee.sun.ac.za/home/studentname/public_html

Apache shortens the web folder path name using the tilde (~).

Therefore the Apache web server shortened reference is:

http://students.ee.sun.ac.za/~studentname
