Neilen Marais : Academic Pages
Introduction
This is Neilen Marais's academic homepage. I'm
currently busy with my PhD at
The University of Stellenbosch. I am part of the
CEMAGG group that focusses on
Computational Electromagnetics.
On these pages you'll find my research interests, list of publications and links
to some potentially interesting resources.
Publications
Journal Articles
- N. Marais and D. B. Davidson, "Numerical Evaluation of Higher Order Curvilinear
Hierarchal Vector Elements in Curvilinear Domains," accepted for publication in
the February 2006 issue of IEEE Transactions on Antennas and
Propagation. Download.

Theses
- Masters Thesis, "Higher Order Hierarchal
Curvilinear Triangular Vector Elements for the Finite Element Method in
Computational Electromagnetics," March 2003
- Bachelors Minithesis, "Investigation of Fractal Antennas and Arrays," November 2000
Research Interests
Computational Electromagnetics in general and currently, the Finite Element
Method in particular. My PhD research focusses on the application of Finite
Element Time Domain (FETD) to electrically large domains, focussing on
applications in humanitarian de-mining.
